Facebook 2013 Hacker Cup Registration is started : Anyone can participate

This is to notify all hackers and programmers that Facebook officially announced today that it annual and third Hacker Cup competition registration has been launched. The competition will first start online, while the onsite final round will took place at Facebook’s HQ in Menlo Park, CA for the top 25 programmers. The top best programmers will go with a $5,000. Hackers and programmers are welcome from all nations of the world.
Facebook 2013 Hacker Cup Competition preliminary rounds will be held between January 25 and February 16. Facebook will fly the top 25 for the onsite final round that takes place on March 22-23.
Interested applicants are required to sign up for the competition by the end of the first round, on the 27th of January, while those who registered previous year are automatically registered for this year competition, although they still need to check their information is up-to-date.
As mentioned earlier, anybody can participate from any part of the world, but the only limitation is that participants must be 18 or older, and cannot be resident in Quebec (!) or any other place where these kinds of competitions are prohibited by law.
Facebook set up Hacker Cup competitions for a couple of reasons. Now that Facebook now has over one billion registered members, the company is trying to stay close to its Hacker Way roots and stay with the world community of top, smart programmers.

- Jan 7 – Jan 27– Registration
- Jan 25 Jan 27 — Online Qualification Round
- Feb 2 — Online Elimination Round 1
- Feb 9 — Online Elimination Round 2
- Feb 16 — Online Elimination Round 3
- March 22 -23 — Onsite Finals at Facebook
